The Song of Strength

“The Lord God is my Strength and my Song; yes, He has become my Salvation.” — Isaiah 12:2 AMPC

Songs carry power. They can lift our mood, comfort us in grief, or spark hope in a weary heart. That’s why Isaiah’s words are so moving—he calls God both his Strength and his Song.

Strength means God is our Sustainer. He gives us endurance when we feel worn down. He equips us to keep moving forward when we want to quit. But Isaiah doesn’t stop there. He says God is also his Song. That means God is not only our Source of Strength—He is also the joy that flows out of our lives.

When we worship, something shifts inside us. Fear loses ground. Worry fades. Joy rises. Singing reminds us of who God is and what He has done. Worship strengthens our faith and fills our hearts with hope.

Isaiah also declares that God has become his salvation. That means God Himself rescues and redeems us. Our salvation is not based on our own effort but on His grace and power. That’s a reason to sing!

When God is your Strength and your Song, even hard days can be filled with hope. His presence sustains you, and His salvation gives you a reason to rejoice.
