Do Not Fear, God Is With You

“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.” — Isaiah 41:10 AMPC

Feeling like we’re running out of strength can often leave us anxious. There is something about loneliness that invites angst and unease. The prophet Isaiah reminds us, though, that we are not alone. God Himself speaks to His people and says, “Fear not… I am with you.”

Notice how personal these promises are: I am with you… I am your God… I will strengthen you… I will help you… I will hold you up. God doesn’t offer a distant encouragement—He offers His Presence, His Strength, and His Hand. He not only helps us face difficulties, but He hardens us to them, making us more resilient.

Life’s challenges can tempt us to look around in terror, as Isaiah says. But God calls us to lift our eyes higher. His victorious right hand is steady, unshakable, and faithful. Even when fear tries to overwhelm us, we can trust that the One who holds us cannot be moved.

To live this out, we have to practice turning fear into prayer. When anxiety rises, whisper, “God, You are with me.” When the future feels uncertain, declare, “You are my God.” When you feel weak, remind yourself, “He is strengthening me.” Fear loses its grip when faith holds tighter.
