Philippians - Life in Jesusનમૂનો

Context
We read in other books of the New Testament that Paul made tents and supported himself in his work through this labor. In his letter to the Philippians, we read that he sometimes received help from the churches he planted, but we know that this did not happen very often. This leads us to conclude that, most likely, the apostle did not live in luxury, perhaps he did not even have a steady income and a comfortable material status.
Certainly, during the periods when he was imprisoned, his resources were very limited. When Paul wrote, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," he was not referring to the fact that he was capable of anything he set his mind to, but specifically to the fact that periods of hardship did not bring him down, but he remained just as strong, with the same joyful heart, because Jesus was his source and sustainer.
- Philippians 4
Meditate
Although Paul was in an uncertain situation, lacking many things, abandoned by many friends, and attacked even by those who claimed to be Christians, he retained his joy. When our joy is stolen, worry, discontent, or frustration take its place.
What has the potential to steal your joy? What things, situations, or people have you allowed to rob you of the fruit of the Holy Spirit? Meditate on these things and what it means specifically for you that Christ strengthens you.
Prayer
Take verse 6 of this chapter and use it as a model for prayer. Thank God for the blessings in your life (you certainly have something to be thankful for; sometimes you just need to open your eyes wider), and then bring your requests before Him and tell Him about the things that concern you. Let the Lord overwhelm you with His peace that surpasses your circumstances (verse 7).
