4 - LORD'S PRAYER - the Servant's Petitionsનમૂનો

02 – God’s Manna
“Give us today our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11, NIV)
Why would Jesus move from such lofty and spiritual themes—like God’s Kingdom and the Father’s will—to something as practical and material as hunger and daily bread? The truth is that we often divide our lives into categories of “sacred” and “secular.” But it is we who make that distinction. Jesus Christ, instead, shows us the human person as a whole—body and spirit together, each with its own importance before God.
I need to be fed daily, both physically and spiritually. And I must recognize that the food which sustains my body is ultimately a gift from God: the fertile soil, the light and warmth of the sun, the air we breathe, and the natural elements like nitrogen and phosphorus that enrich the ground. Everything essential for the production of food is part of God’s common grace, given to all humanity. Likewise, the nourishment for our spirit also comes from God—and without it, we cannot truly live.
Moses reminded the people of Israel in the wilderness:
“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:3, NIV)
Without this spiritual nourishment, can we imagine what kind of harsh, empty creatures we would become? Just as daily food is essential to sustain the human body, so daily spiritual bread is essential to sustain the human soul.
Surely, when Jesus taught us to pray for our “daily bread,” He had this whole, integrated view of humanity in mind.
About this Plan

We have already reflected on how we should pray and we have already talked about the Lord's demands. Now, let’s talk about the Servant’s Petitions. The first part of the Lord’s Prayer focuses on the Lord God. In the second part, beginning with "give us this day our daily bread," the prayer takes a turn and begins to address topics such as hunger, evil, temptation, and other issues. Shall we talk about that? Edilaney, from Brazil!!!
