All I Really Need Is You When life brings challenges, we want them removed immediately. It’s difficult to go about our lives with trials in them, let alone praise God while we’re hurting. In Psalm 34, we see a beautiful testament of King David praising God in the midst of his adversity. His situation is challenging, but he chooses to sing praises to God despite the hardship he’s experiencing. He focuses on who God is and doesn’t allow his temporary circumstances to prevent him from worshiping God. All I Really Need Is You is a song that embodies the prayers of so many believers. Whether we’re in a spiritual rut or fighting earthly distractions and discouragement, it’s natural to cry out to God. And that’s exactly how this song starts out: I need a touch from God, I need to feel the love of the Father I need a miracle, I need to feel the awe and the wonder I need my eyes to see, a world that’s beautiful and true Oh Jesus, all I really need is You As Christians, we long for things from God— His healing touch, His everlasting love, and a breathtaking miracle. Those things are wonderful, and it’s okay to ask Him for them. God often blesses us with the desires of our hearts. But, that can’t be all we seek. Further into the Psalm, it says, “...those who seek the Lord lack nothing.” (Psalm 34:10) Can you imagine seeking God so intentionally that your heart doesn’t want anything else? The song continues with these powerful lyrics: You are my everything You are the air I breathe I’m breathing in I’m breathing out Your presence, Lord Is all around me Let’s first rest in the powerful presence of Jesus, for it truly is enough. Knowing Jesus and experiencing His mighty presence will bring the spiritual breaththrough we so desperately need. King David experienced this, and we believe God wants us to as well. Because that’s all we really need.
