Each person’s path to a relationship with God is different because you and your story are unique. You’re still writing your story. So you might have accepted God’s love as a child, but you’ve moved on from that first love experience and the relationship has dwindled away. Or you might have made a decision to follow God as a teenager or young adult, but life happened and in the midst of the struggle and hurt and disappointments life can bring, you forgot how much God loves you and wants to be part of your life.

Maybe life has knocked you down and beaten you up, and God’s love feels distant, or even nonexistent. Or perhaps you’ve never really known or experienced God’s love in the first place, so this is all new to you. God might have, to you, been a set of rules and laws that you tried to keep, but couldn’t (because in the end, none of us can) and so you gave up, feeling like God was an old man somewhere in the sky keeping tabs on your mistakes and getting ready to issue a report card on your failures.

Each person’s path is different, but God is the same. He loves you, He wants you, and His mission is to make sure you know how much He loves you. He’s always there, He’s always waiting, and He’s always ready to meet you on that prodigal road with a ring and a robe.

God, simply, loves you.
