Journey To An Empty TombEsimerkki
Standing with Jesus
As the week progressed, the disciples were feeling good. Jesus was in charge. They felt prepared for anything. In the upper room, the disciples had a mindset that they would stand with Jesus no matter what happened. Later in the garden, they all said they were willing to die for Him. This idea of having Jesus as your “go to” person is similar to a playground incident that Jefferson Bethke had.

Imagine for a moment that you were there on that Thursday night at the Passover feast. It would have been exciting and so satisfying. To be sitting there, in Jerusalem, at the seat of power with the promised Messiah. They probably felt that nothing could defeat them. A common phrase is "the higher you rise, the harder you fall." The disciples were at one of those high places. Keep this picture in mind as you see the setting change in tomorrow's devotional. How in less than 24 hours, the disciple’ entire world was about to be turned upside down.
