Preparing For The King - Disciple Makers Series #20Esimerkki
Jesus Forewarns His Followers
Thoughts on the message
Jesus knew what was coming – but His disciples did not.
Jesus takes time to give them the information that they need. They cannot understand it and they cannot grasp what it means but Jesus tells them anyway. Understand that God prepares us as well when we face difficult times. Most of the time we respond in the same way! We expect God to do things one way and if He does things differently, we are caught by surprise. No, God prepared us. He did not do it without giving us the preparation that we need.
So how do we learn what God is doing? I wish that I could say that I listen so well, that I know what He is planning for me. I am not that good at listening! Still, as I grow in my walk with Jesus, I start to see some of how He works. Usually, God gives more grace to people than I want to release, God takes more time to prepare us than I want to take, God opens the door more rapidly than I am prepared to walk through, God waits on others around me so that we can all walk together and God is willing to carry a task to another generation rather than get it all done through me.
What are some of the things you see?
Prayer
Father, I know that You have a plan for me or my family and friends that is perfect. I ask for a heart today to just walk faithfully in what You show to me. Give me a willingness to just wait on You. Give me a heart of love for everyone around me. Give me a patient heart that is not dependent on other people or other things to be satisfied. Give me a willingness to follow even when I do not understand – and that is often – just as Your disciples did. In Jesus’ name Amen.
