DAY 5 OF 7

Day 5: Living Full by Pouring Out:

At the core of who we are, God designed us to give and serve. The most impactful leaders and businesspeople don’t measure success by what they gain but by how much they pour into others. Their generosity isn’t calculated—it’s a way of life. As Paul wrote, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Serving isn’t only about money. It’s about giving time, talents, and treasures in ways that uplift and inspire. A kind note, a thoughtful gift, or a helping hand can open doors to deep relationships. Scripture reminds us, “Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:25).

Sometimes serving means transforming your environment. Damon West tells of choosing to be like a coffee bean in boiling water—changing the water instead of being changed by it. In the same way, you can bring kindness, hope, and encouragement wherever you are. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth. . . . You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-14).

Service also shapes legacy. The most meaningful goals aren’t about comfort or recognition but about lives impacted. David modeled this when he “served the purpose of God in his own generation” (Acts 13:36). True leaders think beyond themselves, investing in people and planting seeds for the future.

Jesus taught that generosity creates overflow: “Give, and it will be given to you” (Luke 6:38). And service goes further when we exceed expectations: “If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles” (Matthew 5:41). Sometimes that looks like seeing potential where others see failure—leaving the ninety-nine to pursue the one (Luke 15:4).

Faithful service—whether through encouragement, mentoring, or meeting needs—becomes a daily habit that refreshes both giver and receiver.

Action Step: Identify one person you can serve today—through your time, talents, or treasures. Bless them, expecting nothing in return, and trust God to use your service to impact them and refresh you in the process.
