DAY 1 OF 7

Day 1: Qualities of a Great Leader:

Welcome to this 7-day journey! Together, we’ll explore how intentional living transforms your life, family, and work. Each day will highlight a mindset or practice that draws you closer to God’s best. We begin with leadership—because before you can guide others, you must first learn to lead yourself with vision, integrity, and faith.

Leaders aren’t born fully formed; they’re shaped through daily choices. They lean into discipline, authenticity, and a hunger for wisdom. Whether leading a family, a ministry, or a business, they understand that the health of what they lead flows from the health of their own character. Scripture reminds us that wise, capable, and God-fearing leaders bring strength to those they serve (Exodus 18:21).

One framework for cultivating leadership is the Five Ps: be Passionate, Persistent, Precise, Positive, and Praiseful. Passion fuels mission when convenience tempts you to quit. Persistence carries you through long seasons of challenge. Precision ensures your actions are intentional, not scattered. Positivity shapes your outlook and influences every conversation. Praise—toward God and others—anchors you in humility and gratitude: “From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward” (Proverbs 12:14).

Leadership also requires focus. Practices like the 100% rule (giving full presence to the moments that matter most), the 80/20 rule (prioritizing what produces the greatest impact), and the 40% rule (pushing beyond perceived limits) strengthen perseverance. God urges us in Joshua 1:9 to “be strong and courageous,” reminding us that endurance is built on His presence. Vision then ties it all together, aligning your life with divine purpose and providing a compass for decisions: “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18).

At the heart of leadership is character. The Five Wells—being well-read, well-spoken, well-dressed, well-traveled, and well-balanced—illustrate how broad, thoughtful living shapes influence. As Isaiah 48:17 declares, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Leaders who submit to God’s guidance and live with humility bring depth to their influence. Consistency then sustains what vision begins. It may not be glamorous, but it builds trust, models steadiness, and turns dreams into realities.

Action Step: Reflect on these qualities—vision, focus, consistency, authenticity, the Five Ps, and the Five Wells. Which one do you most need to grow in right now? Write it down, pray over it, and take one step toward it today. Leadership is not forged in a moment, but in the daily, intentional choices you make.
