God’s Rainbow of Promises: A 5-Day Plan for Kids With American Sign LanguageNäide

Day 2: When You Feel Lonely, Come Near to God
Have you ever felt lonely? Maybe your parents have gone on a trip, or perhaps your friends did not include you in their game, and you feel all alone. But here’s the truth: Even when you are physically alone, you are never alone because God will never leave you. You can find comfort in drawing near to God! He wants you to be close to Him and depend on Him to heal your heart when it hurts or whenever you feel lonely.
Are you choosing to be near God by sitting quietly and thinking about Him? If you’re feeling lonely, you can use that quiet time to pray. You can also read the Bible and worship God by singing His praises.

About this Plan

Inspired by the board book, God’s Rainbow of Promises, written by Deaf and hearing sisters Janet Moreno and Jennifer Fusco, this plan covers five common emotions that kids experience and teaches them to navigate these feelings with the help of Scripture and American Sign Language (ASL). Children will learn to choose positive and biblically informed ways to manage their emotions and foster practical understanding and application of God’s Word with physical reminders through ASL alliteration.
