HebrewsNäide

The writer of Hebrews continues to urge his readers not to fall back into the old covenant, but to trust in the new one. He argues that the old covenant is not enough to save them; it is merely a copy of the things that happen in heaven. The tabernacle, and later the temple, are only symbolic representations of the heavenly sanctuary. Jesus, however, is in the real heaven.
Reflection
Another way in which the new covenant surpasses the old is that it creates the conditions that enable people to keep it. God Himself writes His law on their hearts and into their conscience.
