More Than Conquerors: 10 Days in Romans 8

DAY 1 OF 10

The Struggle with Sin

Ever get tired of confessing the same sin over and over? Paul did too. At the end of Romans 7, he cries: “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

Then comes the good news:

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1 NIV).

This is the heart of the gospel. In Christ, your record of guilt has been cleared. God is not holding your past against you—Jesus already took the punishment you deserved.

But no condemnation doesn’t mean no conviction.

  • Conviction is the Spirit drawing you back to God.
  • Condemnation is the enemy pushing you away in shame.

Paul is saying: in Christ, the verdict is in. The gavel has fallen. You are forgiven and free.

Reflection:

  • When do you confuse conviction with condemnation?
  • Ask the Spirit to help you see the difference—and to draw you near when you’ve sinned.

Try This Today:

  • Read Romans 8:1 out loud three times.
  • Write it somewhere you’ll see it today and let its truth sink deep into your heart.

About this Plan

More Than Conquerors: 10 Days in Romans 8

Romans 8 has been called the greatest chapter in the Bible. In these 10 days, you’ll walk verse by verse through its powerful truth: no condemnation in Christ, life in the Spirit, adoption as God’s children, hope in suffering, the Spirit’s help in weakness, God’s purpose in all things, and the unbreakable love of Christ. Each day you’ll read Scripture, reflect on its meaning, and take a step to live in the freedom Jesus secured for you.
