Raising Kingdom-Minded Children in a Broken World - 30-Day DevotionalNäide

Day 16 – Guarding Against Negative Influences
Scripture: “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” – 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)
Reflection
Friends and influences shape the way our children think and act. While we cannot shield them from every negative influence, we can teach them how to recognize what is good and what is harmful. The Bible is clear that the people we surround ourselves with matter.
As parents, we can guide our children by asking questions, listening to their stories, and helping them process what they see and hear. We can also model healthy friendships in our own lives. Teaching discernment is not about making them fearful, but about giving them the wisdom to choose relationships and influences that draw them closer to God.
Biblical Affirmation for Your Children
“My children will choose friends and influences that help them grow in godly character.”
Prayer
Father, give my children wisdom to recognize which influences are healthy and which are not. Protect their hearts from harmful voices and guide them toward friends who will encourage them to live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Step for Parents
Ask your child about their friends or favorite shows, games, or music. Talk with them about how these influences shape their heart and character.
