Embracing Your True Self: Living in Your Christ-Centered Identity With Jennifer SlatteryNäide

You're a coheir with Christ.
As my husband and I age, our daughter often encourages us to use our resources to “live our best life now” and not concern ourselves with providing her with an inheritance. While we appreciate the sentiment, we receive joy as we contemplate leaving her a tangible blessing once we’re gone.
Scripture indicates God feels the same regarding us, His children. After assuring the disciples, and by extension, us, of His constant and faithful care, Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32, NIV).
Romans 8:17 states it this way: “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Based on Hebrews 1:2, the writers on Got Questions suggest this includes “the whole universe, all that is in existence” because “what belongs to Jesus belongs to us.”
Wow.
Journal prompts:
Prayerfully journal on all the blessings God might include in your eternal inheritance. Perhaps envision God’s original creation, the Garden of Eden, and the life Adam and Eve enjoyed while living in literal paradise (Genesis 1 and 2). Ask God to increase your anticipation for the blessings held secure for you and to increase your hope as you endure today’s challenges and hardships.

In Christ, you are loved, chosen, called, redeemed, empowered and held close by the One who crafted your every cell, knows your every flaw, sees your potential. Unfortunately, wounds from our past can challenge our ability to view ourselves as the Lord’s beloved.
