Embracing Your True Self: Living in Your Christ-Centered Identity With Jennifer SlatteryNäide

You are free.
I may always struggle to release my grip on my life. but I’m learning to trust the One who lovingly and tenderly invites me to fully depend on Him. That’s the only way my soul will experience the freedom it craves. For years, fear rooted in past hurts and betrayal caused me to fight for control. This never brought the peace and sense of safety I sought. Subconsciously, I recognized I lacked the ability to protect and sustain myself and to determine the best path forward during crises.
Initially, this realization increased my fear and angst. The closer I grew to Christ, however, and the more I learned to trust in and rely on His care, the more I experienced the rest He promised. In Him, we are free. Free of condemnation and judgement. Free from the need to posture or perform and untethered from the chains of sin that once bound us. We aren’t just free from these soul-enslaving attitudes and behaviors. We are also set free to change, heal, grow, explore, and pursue the adventurous life to which we’re called.
Journal Prompts:
When do you most feel weighed down or burdened? How might a desire for control be contributing to the weight you carry? What truths regarding God’s heart and character can help you rest more consistently in Him as His loved, held, and well-cared for child? Ask God to show you the fears most apt to bind you, their roots, and your next step in your freedom journey.
About this Plan

You’re not insufficient, overlooked, unimportant or unseen. In Christ, you are loved, chosen, called, redeemed, empowered and held close by the One who crafted your every cell, knows your every flaw, sees your potential. Unfortunately, wounds from our past can challenge our ability to view ourselves as the Lord’s beloved. May this 30-day plan remind you of who you are to Christ and in Christ, helping you live with increased confidence and joy.
