Rooted: 30 Days to Strengthen Your Faith Through StruggleNäide

WEEK 1: Uprooting the Lies
Focus: Exposing the lies that keep us stuck and disconnected from our identity in Christ.
Day 6: Rooting Out Fear
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear. I know we are all intimately familiar with fear.
It causes us to doubt our future. To doubt our calling. To doubt God’s promises.
And based on what some of us have walked through, it makes sense that our humanness is hypervigilant, cautious, and scared.
This verse is not meant to shame us in our human experience - but rather to open our eyes to the truth. That we have the Holy Spirit indwelling in us.
With the power of the Holy Spirit, we do not need to walk in fear. But we can walk in the power of the name of Jesus, in the love of our heavenly Father, and in the renewed mind available to us through the Holy Spirit.
Fear looks at our circumstances - real and imagined - and declares they are too big for us. And maybe that’s true.
But they are not too big for our God. And our God has promised to walk with us through the valley. Our God has promised to never leave or forsake us. Our God has promised to provide for us in ways far beyond how he provides for the birds of the air.
God’s promises are YES and AMEN. They are sure and steadfast. God is unwavering.
So when fear tries to whisper in your ear - speak back in faith that God’s power is at work in your life, that your mind is sealed by Christ, and the love of the everlasting Father holds you steady in His hands.
Reflection Questions:
- What fear has been ruling your thoughts lately?
- How can you lean into God's promises instead?
- How can you build up your faith daily?

About this Plan

We often view struggle as a bad thing to be avoided. Who wants pain, right? But what if it's in the struggle that God does some of his best refining work? What if it's in the struggle we are strengthened for the journey ahead? Jesus told us we would have trials - but we can take heart because we never walk the valley's alone. Join me for 30 days as we travel through scripture and strengthen our faith together in the face of struggle.
