Rooted: 30 Days to Strengthen Your Faith Through StruggleNäide

WEEK 1: Uprooting the Lies
Focus: Exposing the lies that keep us stuck and disconnected from our identity in Christ.
Day 3: The Lie of “Not Enough”
“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the Power of Christ may rest upon me” 2 Corinthians 12:9
So many of us struggle with feeling like we are not “enough”. Not enough to be the parents, spouse, friend, worker that we think we should be.
And the lie of the world is to get you to believe you are enough just as you are. Sounds good. Maybe it feels good. But it is a lie.
The truth is, you are right - you are not enough. But you were never designed to be enough on your own. That was never God’s plan.
We were not created to be self-sufficient, independent people maneuvering through life.
When God created the world, he looked around and saw it was good. Except in one case. It was not good for Adam to be alone. Adam wasn’t designed to be solitary. As humans, we were designed to need God AND others.
Being “enough” is a state the enemy wants you to chase, so you separate yourself from the power of God and others at work in your life.
But God says your weakness is good. Your dependency is good. Your limitations are good.
Because they point you to Him. And allows His power to transform your life. To do the impossible.
So the next time you feel led to shame, feeling like you're not enough - stop and remember Paul. Who celebrated his weakness so God’s power could flow through him.
Reflection Questions
- Where are you striving to be “enough”?
- What would it look like to rest in God’s sufficiency?
- How can you start celebrating your weakness?

About this Plan

We often view struggle as a bad thing to be avoided. Who wants pain, right? But what if it's in the struggle that God does some of his best refining work? What if it's in the struggle we are strengthened for the journey ahead? Jesus told us we would have trials - but we can take heart because we never walk the valley's alone. Join me for 30 days as we travel through scripture and strengthen our faith together in the face of struggle.
