Biblical Wisdom for Making Life’s Decisions

DAY 1 OF 3

The Power of Pausing Before Deciding

After Solomon’s death, his son, Rehoboam, was set to become king. The people of Israel came to him with a request: “Lighten the harsh labour demands and heavy taxes that your father imposed on us.” (v. 4). Instead of reacting immediately, Rehoboam wisely asked for three days to consider their petition.

Wisdom for today:

The process of making good decisions requires time, prayer, and reflection. When faced with pressures, whether from others or our own emotions, we don’t have to respond right away. Like Jesus, who moved with purpose and clarity, we too should seek God’s peace before making choices. Rushed decisions often lead to regret, but pausing allows us to seek counsel, weigh consequences, and align with God’s will.

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to pause before making decisions. Help me seek Your wisdom, not just quick and temporary solutions. Grant me the wisdom to wait and take action, so that my choices reflect Your love. Amen.
