Day 4: No Barriers of Love
Scripture: “Then Israel stretched out his right hand and put it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh, placing them deliberately, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.” (Genesis 48:14, NIV)
Grandparents often have a unique open door to their grandchildren’s hearts. Jacob’s blessing of Ephraim and Manasseh shows how a grandparent can speak directly into the next generation, offering guidance, favor, and affirmation in ways parents may not.
This relationship can be more relational and less corrective, allowing grandchildren to feel safe sharing their thoughts, struggles, and dreams. It’s an opportunity to impart wisdom, model faith, and leave a lasting impression on their character.
As a grandparent, you can celebrate your grandchildren’s gifts, encourage their growth, and guide them toward God’s path. Your love can become a bridge that reinforces faith, nurtures confidence, and strengthens family bonds.
Daily Challenge:
Spend one-on-one time with your grandchild this week. Share a blessing, a prayer, or a story from your life that points to God’s guidance and favor. Listen actively to their thoughts and dreams without correction, just affirmation.
