Day 2: Communication That Connects
Scripture: “These commandments I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, walk along the road, lie down, and get up.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, NIV)
One of the most powerful tools God has given grandparents is the gift of communication. Notice how God instructs His people to talk about His Word daily, at home, on the road, morning and evening. Faith is passed down through ordinary conversations that become extraordinary in shaping hearts.
Grandchildren may not always remember every lesson you try to teach, but they will remember your stories, how you prayed with them, and how you spoke with love and patience. Communication doesn’t need to be a sermon. It can be as simple as sharing a Bible verse over breakfast, telling a story of God’s faithfulness during bedtime, or explaining why you trust Him in times of uncertainty.
Your words carry weight because they come wrapped in love and experience. Never underestimate the impact of a gentle reminder of God’s truth or a kind word of encouragement. These conversations echo longer than you realize and often surface at the right time in your grandchild’s life.
Daily Challenge:
Share a Bible verse with your grandchild today. Tell them why it is meaningful and how it has helped you walk with God.
