You Will Make It Through 10 Day DevotionalNäide

DAY 4 | UNDERSTANDING PERSEVERANCE
Suffering is a normal part of the Christian life. In fact, James tells us to count it as joy when we experience trials. Although not many of us are excited to face difficulties, we can understand or know that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope.
Perseverance and endurance come from the Greek word "hupomone," which literally means to bear up under a situation or circumstance. The call of God here is to wait upon Him, to cleave to Him - so that you can endure what you are facing. Remember, God is cheering you on, encouraging you, and providing the strength not to quit. It is always too early to quit.
Consider the trials you're facing. How might God be using these to develop your character? How can this hope sustain you through your current difficulties?
GUIDED PRAYER:
Lord, grant me the perseverance to endure life’s challenges. Let Your Spirit work within me to strengthen my resolve and to make Your love more real to me. Thank You for the promise to never leave me. Help me stand in that confidence and face whatever today brings in Your power.
Amen.
