Overcoming FearNäide

Fear Not
Today’s passage is packed with promises: God will be with us, strengthen us, help us, and uphold us. It is comforting to remember God understands we are prone to fear, and He cares about giving us His peace in the midst of it.
However, it is also interesting to note that many times in Scripture when God reassures someone of His presence and care, He challenges that person to take a risk. God understands we might feel afraid, yet He still asks us to step out in faith.
In Matthew 28, Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission—the command to go into all the world and tell others about Him. If ever there was a challenge to cause fear, this was it. Yet here, too, Jesus finishes this command with these words, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” He understands our fear, but we still have a job to do. What is God asking you to do right now? Do you feel His presence in the midst of the fear?
As you engage with God’s Word:
● What is God saying to me?
● What does it mean to me?
● How can I apply what God is teaching me?
● How can I be specific in prayer today?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
