Jesus Is… My Example - The God Who Washes Feet
It hit me one morning a few days ago as I listened to my Bible during a morning walk-jog. God washes the feet of his followers. I literally stopped in my tracks as the import of that sank into my heart. The God of all the earth (did not just do it for his disciples), but is still willing to wash (serve as a servant) you and his disciple’s feet to show us an example of what we must also do for and to other disciples.
I compared God with all the other gods and concluded that no other god serves its followers! Instead, they lord it over them and take from them what they have; they give nothing. They have nothing to give.
God’s loving example of selfless service must be the practice of every growing believer, and it will be evidence to the world that we are true disciples.
In the Talk it Over section, journal your answers to these questions.
