God and Me: Devotions From Time of GraceMuestra

God and My Needs
What are you afraid of?
When men hear a question like that, they go into John Wayne mode: "I ain't afraid o' nuthin', ma'am." Well, baloney. We all have fears, whether we admit it or not. Men are afraid of being seen as weak. They fear losing respect, losing their jobs, losing their place. Women fear for their personal safety and the safety of those they love. Women fear for their family's health and wellness. Children have a thousand fears, of which the terror of abandonment is near the top.
All of us fear death and the dying process. And I think if we're honest, we would admit to being vulnerable to Satan's whisperings that our faith is a fraud and that there is no God and no help as we struggle to survive.
Here is God's solemn promise to you: "'Because he loves me,' says the LORD, 'I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him'" (Psalm 91:14,15).
God sees you. He cares about you. He knows what you need and when. He acts, always right on time.
