7 Days Of Hope, Part 2Muestra

Sacrifice Takes Many Forms
Overall people’s reactions to my son, Christian, have taken a complete 180-degree turnaround, but I dealt with ignorance and hatred. People have stared and made rude comments, and some have even claimed it would have been more loving of me to have aborted him.
Those are the people God demands that I help.
If we claim to be followers of Jesus, we can’t only love the people who love us. If I choose to show love only to my family, my friends, and my community of supporters, I’m no better than “a sinner.”
It’s choosing to sacrifice the pride and ego, the knowledge that I’m right, and my weak human spirit that allows God to shine through. Only God can give us the strength we need to make the sacrifices that are required of us each day. Only He can strengthen us to get through the obstacles we face. And only He can help us love those who aren’t always easy to like.
When we choose to get out of the way and let Him lead, He can accomplish this and so much more through us.
In what areas of your life do you have people who are difficult to love? How can you specifically sacrifice your pride to love them? In what ways do you see God working through your sacrifice?
