Reason 8: After Jesus rose from death, He appeared to crowds upwards of 500 people over the course of 40 days

Jesus was available in His risen body to meet and talk with people following His resurrection, “For forty days after his death he appeared to them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that he was alive. They saw him, and he talked with them...” (Acts 1:3). Jesus’ resurrection was so well known that large crowds came to Him after He defeated death, “I delivered to you as of first importance...Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep [died]” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).
