As you read today, consider this: For our sake, God was mocked.
Jesus willingly stood in our place. Although He is worthy of all worship, He allowed Himself to be struck. Although He is the Lord God Almighty, He allowed them to ridicule Him. Although He is the Author of life, He submitted to brutal torture. Although He is Judge of the living and the dead, He submitted Himself to the horror of a Roman flogging.
