The Best is Yet to Come
What’s your potential?
We often hear people say, “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” I would argue that God WILL give you more than you can handle because He wants to work greatly in your life. It is at these moments in your development that He wants you to rely on Him for total victory. Almost every major character in the Bible faced things that were way more than they could handle on their own.
Take the story of Job. This man lost everything, his family, his house, his livelihood. I’d say the grief alone was much more than He could bear along with the now daunting task of rebuilding his whole life from the ground up. At a cursory glance, Job was given much more than he could handle. But this is precisely what the Lord used to bring Job closer to Him, and in the end, God blessed Job with twice as much. God will not give us more if we cannot steward well what He has already given us. Job went through a process before God gave Him more, but in the end, Job’s potential increased as He relied on God for total victory.
What can you do with the life you’ve been given, whether it’s one, two or five talents? Because it doesn’t matter what you’ve been given. What matters is what you do with what you’ve got. Faithfulness. Stewardship. Multiplication. That’s the pound for pound principle.
