Lowkey LegendsSample

The last few days we have been reading the story of Ehud. We learn early on in the passage that God had created Ehud uniquely. He was left-handed. In today’s passage, we see Ehud is victorious in carrying out God’s plan to rescue His people from the Moabite king. Ehud was able to accomplish what God had for him, because of his unique left-handed trait. God used his lefthandedness to carry out His plan. Most people were right-handed and carried a sword or dagger on their left side- opposite of their dominant hand. Although Scripture doesn’t say this explicitly, it’s likely the king’s guards checked Ehud’s left hip, found nothing, and assumed he was unarmed as he entered the king’s presence. When in reality, because he was left handed, he kept his weapon on his right side. We see God use the very thing about Ehud that most probably saw as a flaw or a weakness. How would things be different for you if you saw your perceived weaknesses or uniqueness as an opportunity for God to use you? Spend time in prayer today. Pray for God to use you in a way that accomplishes what God put you on this earth to do, regardless of your gifts, talents, abilities, or perceived weaknesses.
