Kingdom Marriages: A 5-Day Plan to Build a Christ-Centered RelationshipSample

Day 4: Praying for Each Other
As we journey through the sacred institution of marriage, it’s essential to remember that our prayers must extend beyond the union itself. Many of us fervently pray for our marriages, yet we often overlook the importance of praying for our spouses as individuals. Just as a building made of broken bricks can never stand strong, a marriage forged between two incomplete individuals can struggle to thrive.
The Bible tells us in Amos 3:3 (NKJV), “Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” This poignant question invites us to reflect on the state of our individual hearts. When we invite God into our personal healing journeys, we create the foundation necessary for a strong, God-honoring marriage. True healing begins within each partner, and it is through this divine restoration that we can cultivate a vibrant union.
As we pray, let’s shift our focus from merely asking for blessings over our marriage to interceding for the healing and wholeness of our spouses. By uplifting each other in prayer, we allow God to work in our hearts and create a powerful alignment that honors Him. When two healed individuals walk together in agreement, they cultivate space for a transformative and loving partnership.
Remember, broken people can’t build a whole marriage unless they lean on the healing power of Christ. Therefore, let us strive to focus on individual healing—both our own and that of our spouses—before we seek to strengthen our marriage. As we prioritize this journey, we align ourselves with God’s design for a flourishing relationship.
Let’s commit to lifting each other up in prayer, asking for strength, restoration, and wholeness, so we may walk together in harmony, reflecting the love of Christ in our lives and our union.
May your marriage be a living testimony of God’s grace and healing.
