Becoming Love: If We Start at Finish, Where Do We End? (Part 2)

DAY 5 OF 5

Day Ten - Restoring Peter after his denial

Have you ever felt like you blew it so badly that God could never use you again?

Peter knew that feeling. Just days before, he denied even knowing Jesus—three times. And yet, in John 21, the risen Jesus meets Peter by the fire and asks him three times: “Do you love Me?”

Jesus isn’t rubbing Peter’s failure in his face. He’s rewriting the story. For every denial, He gives Peter a new declaration of love—and then He gives him a mission: “Feed my sheep.”

That’s the heart of the gospel: Love doesn’t discard the broken; love restores with purpose. Jesus doesn’t just forgive Peter—He entrusts him with responsibility. The same man who fell becomes the rock who will strengthen others.

And that’s the same invitation for us. Your failures don’t disqualify you. In Jesus, they become the very places He can display His restoring love. We don’t throw away the broken; in Christ, we restore them and send them back out with purpose.

So, hear Jesus’ words today: “Do you love Me?” If your answer is yes, then take heart—He has work for you, too.
