Day 9: Advent People Are Prophets
Reflection:
Part of active waiting is becoming prophetic voices ourselves. Christians are given the duty to announce the coming of the Kingdom and call for the repentance of all peoples. We’re called not to wait stagnantly, but to prepare the way. Advent people cry out in the wilderness, announcing that the Lord is coming. The purpose of this is always practical. We pray that God’s Kingdom establish itself on earth just as it is in heaven. As we anticipate Jesus coming into the world, we call on humanity to turn to Him; to hunger for righteousness and care for the lowly and the oppressed. How do we do this? Isaiah says that we are to speak tenderly. As Jesus fulfills the words of the prophet, the message we have been given is simple—do not be afraid, your sin has been paid for. Jesus is like a Shepherd gathering His lambs in His arms. This is the mode in which we call people to repentance.
Meditation:
How can your voice prepare the way for Christ?

About this Plan

Advent is more than a countdown to Christmas. It is a season of holy waiting, of longing in the dark for the Light that is coming. We not only look back to the manger, but forward to Christ’s return in glory. Advent trains our hearts to be awake and expectant, anchoring us in the hope of God’s promises. This 25-day plan invites you to slow down, reflect, and rediscover the meaning of Advent. Together we will journey through Scripture, prayer, and meditation, remembering that the coming of Jesus is not sentimental tradition, but a world-shaking reality.
