God's Assignment: Living on PurposeSample

When Love Costs Everything
Ephesians 5:1–2
Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Devotional:
At seventeen years old, Soni was sold into slavery by her aunt. She spent three decades as a prostitute in India before a Nepali Christian helped her escape. The woman shared the gospel with Soni, and Soni joyfully accepted Christ’s invitation of salvation. But once Soni returned home, her family did not accept her because she had been a prostitute. Even worse, she had become an “untouchable” as a Christian. “Everybody rejected me; Jesus was the only one who loved me,” Soni said. “Please pray...that all my family will come to know Jesus,” Soni said. “Because Jesus died not only for me, but also for them.” Whatever else God calls you to do, walk in love and embrace forgiveness.
