Connect With God Through Remembrance | 7-Day DevotionalSample

The Lord's Table
God instituted communion as a means of walking in remembrance of the sacrifice that Jesus made for all humanity. Jesus led the first Communion table, teaching His disciples to “do this in remembrance of Me” (Mark 14 ESV).
Remembrance places proper value and honor on truth, as it helps you recognize messages that can get lost in religion. When you look at Jesus’ act of breaking the bread, symbolizing His body, you are reminded that He was wounded for your transgressions and by His stripes (wounds) you are healed. You are made whole because Jesus’ body was broken in your stead. At the same time, when Jesus took the cup, He knew that only His blood could take away the sins of the world. It is the final payment for our sins—the ultimate sacrifice.
As you partake of communion, you are actively participating in the remembrance of His promise to return. You partake in communion to align with the most incredible truth, and that is, you are now in right standing with God because of His death and resurrection. Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin, so you are now the righteousness of God in Christ. It is the highest form of remembrance knowing you are nothing outside the sacrifice of Jesus, and in this encounter, you receive everything you need!
Prayer
Father, thank You for sending Your only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross and rise again on the third day as the ultimate sacrifice for my sins. May I abide in the truth, knowing that I am a co-heir with Jesus as I wait for the day He returns.
Activation
- Take communion during your next encounter and ask the Holy Spirit to give you a new revelation of each element for your life today.
- Journal and ask the Holy Spirit what 2 Corinthians 5:21 actually means for a believer who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
About this Plan
