This last finger of your story is a little scary. It guesses what your life might look like today had you never asked Jesus to be your leader and Lord. We begin this last finger by saying:
Finger 5: “If I Had Never Met Jesus, I . . .”
The truth is, we are all very grateful for salvation in Jesus. Without Jesus, our lives, families, and philosophy of life would all look quite different than they do now. But this finger helps us say it out loud. For example:
“If I had never met Jesus, I would still be very empty in my heart, always looking for one more thing to make me happy.”
“If I had never met Jesus, I would still be addicted, hopeless, and face an uncertain future.”
“If I had never met Jesus, I would be dead, since most of my friends who I knew before Christ are already dead.”
Go ahead and take an educated guess as to what your life might look like today without Jesus. It’s a little scary, right? But thankfully, God sent someone to show compassion to us and point us to Jesus. Now we can do the same.
Take time today to write out your story with all five fingers. Write down what your life would be like without Jesus, and practice it with a friend. Come back tomorrow for the final challenge.
