I Know a GuySample

Take a moment to remember that Jesus is with you as you read scripture, reflect, and pray. Invite him to guide you in these moments.
While our eyes might be drawn to action as we read, pay attention to the details in these verses that point to how Jesus and his disciples spent time together and interacted with one another.
Read Mark 9:30-50.
- Do you notice anything about Jesus’ relationship with his disciples?
- Based on his words and actions in these verses, what is important to Jesus?
- Are there any verses through which you sense Jesus speaking to you?
Jesus wanted to spend more time with his disciples, but they struggled to understand his teaching. Even though they were walking with Jesus full-time, they struggled with selfish motivations.
Prayer: Jesus, I don’t always understand what you mean. Help me come to you with the innocence and humility of a child.
