Horizon Church November Bible Reading Plan: Flawed but Called - the Book of JudgesSample

Reflection on Judges
The book of Judges shows us what life looks like when people drift from God and rely on their own wisdom. It’s a sobering reminder of how easy it is to fall into cycles of compromise—but it also points us to the mercy of a God who never gives up on His people.
Take a moment to reflect:
- Where do you notice patterns in your own life that resemble the “cycle” in Judges—drifting from God, facing consequences, and needing His mercy again?
- What does Judges teach you about God’s character, even in the midst of Israel’s repeated failures?
- In what areas of your life are you tempted to “do what is right in your own eyes,” and how can you surrender those areas to Jesus, your true and faithful King?
Spend some time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to help you live with greater trust, obedience, and dependence on God’s leadership in your life.

About this Plan

Flawed but Called invites us into the raw, real stories of the Book of Judges - where imperfect people were used by a perfect God. In a time of chaos and compromise, God still raised up deliverers. Their flaws didn’t disqualify them; His call did not waver. As we journey through Judges, may we see that our weaknesses don’t limit God’s power - they make room for His grace to shine.
