Wealth and PovertySample

God's riches in Christ:
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 ESV).
What do we know about God? The Bible contains a great deal of information about Him. God is almighty. He is a Spirit. He is invisible to us. Elsewhere, we read that God is merciful and patient. He is also eternal and righteous.
In this passage from the Book of Philippians, we discover another of God's characteristics. He is wealthy. We can deduce this from the following sentence: But is God truly wealthy? Certainly. He is so wealthy that He does not become poorer by giving. I have heard that phrase many times before, and it is fitting. It is quite remarkable.
This means that we cannot express God's wealth in monetary terms. God's wealth cannot be measured in material terms. When the Bible speaks of the future glory of the heavenly city of Jerusalem, it describes streets paved with gold and gates adorned with pearls. These are all metaphors for precious materials.
However, the reference to God's riches is not about material goods. They belong to Christ. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can share in them. This is the meaning of the final words of this text. Through his work as Saviour, Jesus Christ opens a treasure chest. This treasure consists of many blessings. Do you know which blessing is the most beautiful? The richest blessing is peace with God.
Do you experience peace when you think about God's riches?
