The Revealed Will of GodSample

The Sovereign Will
God’s will is manifested in three dimensions: sovereign, moral, and prescriptive. The sovereign will is God’s eternal and unchangeable plan, fulfilled regardless of human choices.
Ephesians 1:11 says that God works all things according to the counsel of His will. Nothing escapes His control. He is sovereign over creation, history, and the future. Even when we do not understand events, we can trust that God is in control and has a greater purpose.
A prime example of someone under God’s sovereign will is Job. He was a man of integrity and reverence for the Lord, but faced extremely difficult trials. God allowed Satan to test Job, taking away his wealth, family, and health (Job 1–2). Despite his suffering, Job remained faithful, and in the end, God restored everything he had lost, twice over (Job 42:10). This story teaches us that even amid pain and uncertainty, God remains sovereign, and His plans are perfect, even when we cannot fully comprehend them.
Accepting God’s sovereignty leads us to rest in Him, knowing that nothing happens without His permission. Even when facing challenges, we can trust that all things work together for the good of those who love God (Romans 8:28).
