THE PRAYER of JABEZ

DAY 1 OF 12

DAY 1: THE BLESSING

Scripture:“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me…’” – 1 Chronicles 4:10

Jabez’s prayer begins with a bold and humble request: “Oh, that You would bless me.” His life reminds us that no past, limitation, or pain can stop God from releasing His favour. What makes this prayer powerful is that it is Spirit-led. The Holy Spirit guides us to recognise our need for God’s blessing, awakens our faith to ask boldly, and stirs our hearts to receive God’s goodness so we can become vessels of blessing to others.

When we ask in the Spirit, God’s blessing touches every area of our lives — spiritually, emotionally, financially, relationally, and physically. The Holy Spirit shows us how to steward His favour wisely and how to align our desires with God’s Kingdom. He also reminds us that the blessing of God is not only for ourselves but to impact others, to shine His light, and to advance His purposes on earth.

Take a moment to reflect: Is your heart open to the Spirit’s guidance as you ask God for His blessing? Are you willing to receive and then give it away to bless others?

Declaration: I am blessed by the Spirit of God to be a blessing to others. God’s favour, wisdom, and presence lead every step I take.

Prayer Focus: Holy Spirit, thank You for guiding me to ask for God’s blessing. Fill my heart with faith, open my eyes to Your favour, and lead me to walk in Your power. Let Your Spirit empower me to receive all that God has for me and to release blessings to those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
