When You Wonder WhySample

Why Did God Create Humans?
God created humans to know and worship him. We do this by reflecting his image to the world around us.
Two of the biggest questions we ask ourselves are, “Where did we come from?” and “Why are we here?” Both of these questions find their answers in God. He is the one who created us, and any purpose or ultimate meaning in our lives comes from him.
So why did God create us? It wasn’t because he needed us or because he was lonely. God is triune, meaning he’s always existed as a perfect loving relationship between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He lacks nothing and needs nothing.
While the Bible does not provide a direct or easy answer to the question of why God created everything in the first place, it seems clear that creation is an act rooted in love. In other words, God’s love is so great that he desires to share it outside himself. He made humans so that they could receive and enjoy his love. They in turn are made to love him back and to love one another.
You exist to be known by God and to know him.
You exist to be loved by God and to love him in return.
And you exist to share that love with others. It’s that simple.
Take some time to think about the beautiful simplicity of your existence. How does this change the way you think about the value of your life? How does this way of seeing your purpose differ from how our culture talks about finding purpose?
