30 Days With God’s Alive and Active WordSample

The Word That Touches the Untouchable
There was a man covered in leprosy. We don’t know his name, only his condition. He had lived for years at a distance, isolated by a disease that made him untouchable… to everyone except Jesus. In Luke 5:12, this man falls on his knees and says, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” He wasn’t questioning Jesus’ power: he was unsure of His willingness. His body was broken, but his soul ached even more. He longed not just to be healed, but to be seen, to be touched, to be restored.
And Jesus moved with compassion, did something no one else would do. Before He said a word, He reached out… and touched him. He didn’t have to. His word alone had power. But the touch said everything: “You matter. You’re not alone. I see you. You’re not too far gone.” In that single moment, dignity returned. Shame lost its voice. And a soul that felt invisible was embraced.
Maybe you’ve felt untouchable too because of a mistake, a diagnosis, a secret, or the sting of rejection. Maybe you’ve been walking around with wounds no one can see. But hear this: Jesus hasn’t changed. His voice still breaks through the silence. His hand still reaches toward what others avoid.
Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that God’s Word is alive, and it cuts straight to the place where we’re hurting. It doesn’t come to expose us with shame, but to touch us with healing. No matter how dark, hidden, or painful it feels, His love goes there. And not with judgment, but with tenderness.
Do you feel unworthy? Ashamed? Invisible? Jesus isn’t waiting for you to fix yourself first. He comes close, just like He did with the leper, not just to cleanse you, but to embrace you. He sees you. He touches your story. And His voice doesn’t stop at healing the body; it restores identity. It brings you back to who you really are: seen, known, and deeply loved.
So today, lift your eyes like that man did. Believe in Jesus’ compassion. Come to Him with your pain, your past, your doubt. Because when He touches what’s broken, shame turns into dignity, and what felt invisible gets called by name.
Prayer
Lord, touch the places in me that feel ashamed, hidden, or unworthy. Reach into my broken story and make me new. Restore the dignity I’ve lost and the hope I’ve buried. Let Your living Word go where no one else can and bring healing where I need it most. Come close to me, as You did to the leper, and let me feel again that I am loved, fully and deeply, by You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
