16 Characteristics of the God-Kind of Love - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

DAY 6 OF 16

Day 6 – Love does not behave rudely

Have you ever seen people behave rudely to you, even before saying a word to them? Well, in most cases, such people are dealing with internal issues that don't even concern you, but most likely, they don’t know how to control them.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:5 that love doesn’t behave itself rudely. And a few days ago, we also learned that love is kind. So, genuine love honors others so well that, regardless of the problem, it will learn to treat others with kindness. That also means that self-control is involved in this process.

Are you labelled by others as ‘rude’? Maybe it could be that you weren’t exposed to so much love from your home. It could also be from other things that happened in your past that have left a lasting negative impression of people in your mind. If that is the case, accept that you need healing. Getting therapy from a Christian counsellor could help you a lot. But getting to know God more intimately is the long-term solution to such a problem. People are valuable. So treat them with dignity and speak no evil of another.
