Living Free From the Weight of OffenseSample

Living Free From the Weight of Offense

DAY 5 OF 5

Living Free

For years, I thought forgiving meant excusing. That’s why I resisted it. But forgiveness isn’t pretending the hurt didn’t happen. It’s choosing to release the debt because Jesus has already settled it at the cross. Colossians 2:14 says He “canceled the record of debt that stood against us.”

When we forgive, we’re not letting the other person off the hook — we’re letting ourselves out of prison. Jesus says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

Maybe today you’re reading this and you feel chained by offense. You’ve carried betrayal, rejection, disappointment, or words that have followed you for years. Jesus is inviting you into freedom. Whisper His name. Hand Him the weight. Take one trembling step forward. He has already secured your healing.

Reflection: What would living free from offense look like in your relationships this week? Where can you take a brave step of forgiveness?

Friend, you don’t have to carry offense another day. Freedom is possible. Jesus has already made the way. Take the brave step to let go and learn to live unoffendable.
