Relationships That Flourish: A 30-Day Devotional on Finding Security in Christ and Growing Healthy ConnectionsSample

Do you find it difficult to celebrate with others? A blessing of faithful relationships is having someone to be with us in both the joys and the griefs of life. Who do we call when we need to celebrate? Having people who desire to see us flourish is a gift from God.
In this passage, Mary has just received life-changing (and world-changing) news. She visits her relative Elizabeth, who is also pregnant, and joy overflows as they meet. Though they didn’t know exactly how the future would play out, they chose to celebrate God’s promises together. Their faith in God’s goodness brought them joy even in the unknown.
Celebrating others is not always easy. Sometimes, seeing someone else’s success can highlight our own unfulfilled desires—whether that’s a promotion, a relationship, a child, or financial security. In those moments, it can feel easier to envy than to rejoice. God, however, sees our longings and is faithful to bring comfort. As we seek Him, He helps guard our hearts against jealousy and resentment. When we choose to celebrate others, we reflect His love, strengthen our relationships, and remind ourselves of the good things He has already given us. There are always reasons to rejoice, even in the small things.
Reflect: What is something you are celebrating today? Can you share that joy with a friend or family member? What is one step you can take to celebrate with others this week?
Pray: Lord, You have given me many good gifts! Help me to have a heart that delights in celebrating with others and to trust You with the longings of my heart. Thank You for the joy we have in You, above all else.
