Father, let our home be built on you, the solid rock.

When a particularly hard day hits, one of my go to songs is Firm Foundation by Cody Carnes. The truth of the lyrics pour over me and remind me that when your life and your marriage are built on the solid foundation of Christ Jesus, the world can rumble and shake and you’ll be left standing.

Our God is a good, solid, firm foundation. He is the rock that supports and establishes our marriages. When we build on him, we can trust that the house won’t fall, the marriage won’t crumble, the relationship will endure! Psalms 127:1 (NIV) says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” It shows us that we can build and work in our own strength and with our own power, and that it’ll all be for nothing if it’s not all for him.

He is a God who never fails, so as the song says: “why would he fail now? He won’t.”

Today’s Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I want my marriage to be built on you. Forgive me for putting my trust and building my life on anything other than you. Protect our marriage as the world around us shakes, that we may continue to stand.
