No Condemnation, No Shame

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” That declaration in Romans 8 isn’t abstract—it’s personal. For those who know what it’s like to live under the weight of shame, guilt, or failure, these words are water in the desert.

The transcript reflects on the experience of someone who felt they had failed too much—like they’d “blown it.” They believed God could forgive others, but not them. This is the lie condemnation tells us: that we are the exception to grace.

But Paul says no. In Christ, there is no condemnation. The law of the Spirit has set you free from the law of sin and death. God did what the law couldn’t do. Through Jesus, He condemned sin—not you.

This shifts everything. It doesn’t mean we never sin again—but it means sin no longer defines us. The transcript describes the moment it clicked: “I’d been trying to clean myself up before coming to God. But He was already waiting.”

This is where the power lies. We’re not loved less because we struggle. We’re not kicked out because we fall. The Spirit of life now rules in us. And every day, we’re invited to live from that place—not of fear, but of freedom.

If you're in Christ, shame no longer has a seat at your table. Condemnation is not your companion. The cross has spoken a better word.
