Praying for Your Husband: Covering Your Husband in Faith & Power

DAY 3 OF 5

Day 3 – Covering His Work & Purpose

Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Devotional:
So much of your husband’s identity and energy is tied to his work and calling. Whether he’s in an office, a trade, ministry, or building something new, his work is often where he feels the most pressure—and sometimes the most discouragement. When things go well, he may feel confident. When they don’t, he may carry stress, shame, or even question his worth.

This is why it matters so much to cover his work and purpose in prayer. God designed your husband with gifts, skills, and a calling that no one else can fulfill. Your prayers can unlock favor, clarity, and perseverance for him in his daily work.

When you pray for his work, you’re not only asking God to bless what he puts his hands to—you’re asking God to align his work with eternal purpose. That’s where true fulfillment is found.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gifts and talents You’ve placed in my husband. Bless the work of his hands today. Open doors of favor, give him wisdom in decisions, and protect him from discouragement. Help him to see his work not just as a job, but as part of the calling You’ve given him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge:
Speak one specific word of encouragement about your husband’s work today—thank him for his effort, affirm his skills, or remind him that what he does matters.
