Unleashing Faithfulness

DAY 5 OF 20

"Be sure to fear the Lord.” This can be a challenging passage to wrap our heads around when the God we follow is all-loving. Fearing the Lord is not a fearful dread, but a respect that inspires obedience and humility. And serving God faithfully means doing so with sincerity, integrity, and a genuine desire to please Him. It's about serving Him with our whole heart, not just outward actions. And what is our motivation for doing so? Remembering. Remembering how God has shown up before and that He will do it again. It’s a call to remembrance and the blessings He has bestowed on us.

What could this look like in your life? Maybe it’s engaging in regular prayer and spending time in God’s Word. Maybe it’s listening to a faith-based podcast. Maybe it’s journaling and keeping notes of the ways that you’ve seen God’s faithfulness in your life and in the lives around you. When we remember how God has been faithful in the past, it’s easier to live a life of integrity and faithfulness ourselves. It’s easier to strive to live a life that reflects God's character—one that displays honesty, kindness, and compassion. And when we do this, our lives share with others the story of who God is.

About this Plan

Unleashing Faithfulness

It's easy to look at characters from the Bible, early church leaders, and even modern-day leaders and assume that the goal is to have an extraordinary faith. Does that mean that faithfulness is marked by the extraordinary? This devotional will look at the words Paul left for his young friend, Timothy. As someone who lived an impressive life of faithfulness himself, Paul outlined how we can do the same in every area of our lives, no matter our circumstances.
